Upcoming Director Elections - Vote Now

December 6, 2024

A letter from our Interim Chair, Allan McKay...

Dear Paddle Scotland members,

Your vote in the elections at the forthcoming
Annual General Meeting on Thursday 19 December 2024 is critical.

This year's AGM holds particular significance because it will be conducted in line with our new Articles of Association approved at last week's General Meeting which have restructured our Board of Directors.

Your Voice Matters

This year, members will be voting on the election of five new directors including the role of President. This will shift the balance of directors to newly elected ones following the AGM, and these new directors will be essential in shaping the future direction of our entire organisation.

Increasing Diversity & Representation

Paddle Scotland strives for a more diverse and representative Board - something that is crucial for making informed decisions which will benefit all members across the various paddlesport disciplines.

As recently as May 2023, there were more female than male directors. However, currently all directors are male, emphasising the need for increased gender diversity in particular.

Please take the time to familiarise yourself with the  pen portraits of all candidates standing for election so that you may make an informed decision and help our goal of increasing representation.

Key Dates & Further Information

Your participation in the voting at this pivotal AGM will positively impact the future of Paddle Scotland and paddlesport as a whole. We urge you to exercise your right to vote and help shape the direction of our organisation.

Finally, may we emphasise the importance of respect throughout this election process, during which all nominees should be treated equally, fairly and kindly.

Sincerely,

Allan McKay
