As the Governing Body for Paddlesport in Scotland, we work in partnership with a wide variety of organisations and in a number of ways.
sportscotland is the National Agency for Sport. It manages Scottish Government and National Lottery funding, both of which SCA is in receipt of. It also provides a range of services to governing bodies and performance pathway athletes in Olympic disciplines of Sprint and Slalom.
As the National Outdoor Training Centre, Glenmore Lodge works closely with SCA to plan and deliver a range of courses and events, particularly with supporting the course provider workforce with orientations and moderations.
Paddle UK (formerly British Canoeing) is the UK governing body for paddlesport. We work in partnership through a UK Agreement, signed in 2019 and replacing the previous long standing federal or single agreement. The UK Agreement recognises that the four organisations are legally independent of each other but clarifies where the organisations work together, particularly in areas of coaching, competitions and events.
Pinkston Watersports in Glasgow is the only artificial white water course in Scotland. SCA work with Pinkston Watersports on a number of events and development of paddlesport in the community.
Scouts Scotland are the largest mixed volunteer-led Movement for young people in Scotland. They offer fun, challenge and life changing adventure to almost 40,000 young people in Scotland, who are supported by over 12,000 adult volunteers. SCA and Scouts Scotland have a partnership with a vision “Where all Scouts have an opportunity to paddle”.
SDS is the Scottish governing and co-coordinating body of all sports for people of all ages and abilities with a physical, sensory or learning disability. SCA and SDS work in partnership to deliver targeted programmes and events.
Blue Space Highland is here to provide wellbeing support and opportunities to engage in blue space activity for the communities of the Highlands. We are delivering wellbeing paddle sessions that encourage self management in mental health, increase public participation in water based activities with dignity and responsible access. If you or you know someone who may benefit from this approach please get in touch.
In addition to our Partners, many organisations offer Paddle Scotland members a discount on their goods and services. If you are interested in these opportunities please visit this page for more information.
If you would like to talk to us about working in partnership in any way, please get in touch.
