Paddle Scotland delivers the British Canoeing Awarding Body Awards & Qualifications
There are a range of awards and qualifications suitable for those at every step of their paddling journey.

All courses are available in Scotland via Paddle Scotland licensed providers. Find a course in the event listing, or contact a course provider using our course provider directory.
sportscotland also operates a scholarship scheme offering financial support to coaches. Applications must be submitted to sportscotland at least 4 weeks before the course. Find out more.
| Type of Award / Qualification | Description |
|---|---|
| Leadership Awards | A range of leadership qualifications aimed at everyone from club paddlers and novices to advanced paddlers in a range of disciplines. |
| Coach Awards | Qualifications to prepare an individual to coach paddlers across a range of craft. |
| CPD | Typically 3 or 6 hour modules on specific subjects. Most modules do not have specific pre-requisites and are open for any coach. |
| Safety Awards | Designed to meet the needs of all paddlers and coaches, from those starting out on sheltered water all the way through to those paddling operating in advanced environments. Safety awards are also appropriate required learning and pre-requisites for some BC Coaching and Leadership qualifications. |
