A National paddle clean up fortnight (Sat 27th May –Sun 11 June 2023) is being scheduled for the whole paddling community to get involved, actively protecting their local environment.
We want this year's efforts to be even bigger and would urge people to consider getting involved as not only is it good for the environment it is good for you!
To help clubs get ready, we have a limited number of clean up kits available to distribute. Funding to purchase the Clean Up Kits has been kindly donated by the Andy Jackson Fund for Access.
If you plan clean ups on the National Cycle Network (click here for a map), Sustrans operate Love Your Network scheme to provide equipment such as litter pickers, bags etc. Apply before end of February.
If you plan cleans ups on the canal network, Scottish Canals are able to offer loan of equipment, supply of bags and collection service of collected litter in bags. Contact
Carol Bell for more info.
SCA Environment Committee are also keen to hear from clubs and groups who are involved in clean up projects.
This year, ERDINGER Alkoholfrei, one of British Canoeing’s commercial partners will be supporting the Big Paddle Cleanup.
They will be issuing spot prizes, which will include their beverages and other goodies ahead of the two weeks of action in May and June.
