This award recognises outstanding service to our sport, and provides an opportunity for you to nominate someone, who acts in a voluntary capacity, and makes a significant contribution to the sport. This could be a coach, paddler or club member.
This year we have two deserving recipients Tom and Chloe Wakeford of Moray SUP Club.
"Tom and Chloe are undoubtedly some of the most enthusiastic and committed SUP-ers and have had a pivotal role in promoting SUP throughout Moray and Highland. The time they have given to ensure the smooth running of the Saturday club sessions is significant. They have kept the club going through lockdowns by organising virtual coffee mornings, Friday night quiz nights and more. As restrictions eased, they have been at the forefront of ensuring the paddling arrangements have been covid compliant; at each step they have only sought solutions to getting as many people as possible as safely as possible to take part in our much loved activity. They have sought technological solutions to making bookings for sessions and track and trace as effortless as possible for the participants and session leaders, even though it has required giving up their own free time. They have been part of working out how we can make sure our sessions remain open to anyone whilst still offering challenge and development for our more experienced paddlers."
Congratulations, and thank you to Tom and Chloe - Moray SUP Club are very lucky to have you!
