The Scottish Canoe Association, in partnership with British Canoeing, is delighted to announce the Safer Recruitment eLearning course. Tailored for a wide range of organisations, including paddlesports clubs, this course ensures the suitability of safer staff, contractors, and volunteers when working with vulnerable children and adults at risk. Our comprehensive eLearning program covers the entire recruitment process, equipping participants with valuable tools to enhance their organisation's practices. It places a strong emphasis on critical measures for identifying and preventing risks, distinguishing it from traditional Safeguarding and Recruitment courses
Safer Recruitment encompasses a series of essential practises aimed at ensuring paid staff, contractors, and volunteers are well-suited to work with vulnerable children and adults at Risk.
This course caters to a broad audience, including employers and organisations like paddlesports clubs, who offer services to children and adults at Risk. If your recruitment process involves volunteers working with vulnerable groups, you'll find valuable insights here, even though you may need to adapt them to a more informal setting.
There are 6 comprehensive modules that guide you through the entire recruitment process, from creating role descriptions to onboarding successful applicants. By completing this course, you'll be equipped to assess and enhance your organisation's existing practices and procedures to make them more ‘Safer’.
It’s important to note that The Safer Recruitment eLearning is not a Safeguarding course or a Recruitment course. Instead it focuses on the critical measures you should incorporate into your recruitment process to deter, reject or identify people who may pose risks or are unsuitable for working with children or adults at risk whom your organisation provides services for.
The Safer Recruitment eLearning is available at a cost of £30 for SCA members, CANI, Canoe Wales, and British Canoeing.
£60 for non-members.
Completing this course will earn you 10 Continuing Professional Development (CPD) points.
Enhance your recruitment practices and promote safer environments for vulnerable individuals today! You can access the course immediately through the
