New Series of Wildlife Webinars

We have experts lined up for three new webinars in May and June, to help us understand more about the animals we come across on the water and how we should interact with them when we do!

A chance to learn about the whales and dolphins we can see from our coastline! Learn about their behaviour and how to identify different species.

Hosted by Katie Dyke, Policy Officer at Whale and Dolphin Conservation, Katie will also be talking about the #RudeToIntrude campaign and how we should interact and behave when we encounter whales and dolphins around Scotland. All proceeds from this talk will be donated to Whale and Dolphin Conservation.

Join us to find out all about sea birds that can be found on the west coast.

Judith Bullivant (Outdoor Learning and Wellbeing Officer on Skye) will be sharing images and stories about some of the birds that might be encountered around the west coast of Scotland, with a special highlight on the white tailed, or sea eagle, our largest native bird of prey.

Join us to find out more about wildlife crime and how paddlers can help!

Wherever you paddle, make sure you're aware of the law around wildlife crime, such as fish poaching, freshwater pearl mussels and wildlife disturbance. Join us to understand better what wildlife crime is; what to do if you witness wildlife crime and how to report it.

Hosted by Gavin Ross of the Police Scotland National Wildlife Crime Unit. Gavin is a keen paddler and will be sharing details of Operation Wingspan.

Booking and Cost

Please book in advance via each link below. These webinars are available on a 'pay what you feel is right' approach - choosing from £5, £10, £15 or, for SCA Members, free. We don't want cost to be a barrier to your taking part, but we are also grateful if members who can afford to contribute, do so to contribute to costs of running the courses (e.g. tutor time). When booking you will have the option of attending free or paying a £5, £10 or £15 contribution. Non members are also welcome to attend for a small fee of £5/£10/£15.
