January 18, 2024

We are now seeking applications from aspirant tutors for the new Swimmer Safety & Rescue course.

The role of a Swimmer Safety & Rescue Tutor is rewarding, demanding and important to the support of swimming events such as triathlons and open water swimming.

The course, which will replace the Swim Event Safety Award in early February 2024, is designed to provide paddlers with the key safety skills and knowledge to work as part of a water safety team where open water swimming is involved.

This course is aimed at all paddlers and the objective is to introduce, explore and practice simple strategies and safe skills to provide swimmers safety cover at a managed site or event. The course programme consists of 6 modules. This can be delivered in a day or over a maximum period eight weeks.

For detailed information on requirements of tutors, the application process and maintaining the role, please refer to the detailed information pack which can be found here
