Recognition for 40 Years of Volunteering at Canoe Slalom Events
Chris and Ken Baillie were honoured by the Scottish Slalom Paddling Community for over 40 years of dedicated service.

Paddle Scotland's Interim CEO Kevin Pringle and Paddle Scotland President Stewart Pitt presented them with an award recognising their significant contributions to the sport during the successful Grandtully Slalom Event this past weekend.
Chris and Ken have been instrumental in the success of many slalom events across the UK and overseas, handling critical behind-the-scenes tasks such as developing and implementing communication systems, providing invaluable guidance on event organisation and supporting young athletes.
In 2012, Chris and Ken's son, Tim Baillie, and his C2 partner Etienne Stott, made history by winning the UK's first-ever C2 Olympic Gold Medal at the London Olympics. Etienne Stott shared some words for Chris and Ken:
"Thank you Chris and thank you Ken. We appreciate you, treasure you and have deep gratitude for all you have done. I’m sure you won’t be sitting at home twiddling your thumbs, so I and everyone involved in Canoe Slalom wish you all the very best for the future in your new surroundings down South."
