People of Colour Paddle

August 19, 2022

Scottish Canoe Association (SCA) are delighted to partner with Adya Misra, People of Colour Paddling and are coming to Glasgow to take folks from our communities on the water by kayaking, canoeing and paddleboarding!  The event will be held on the 9th of September 2022 and you can choose from one of two sessions; from 4pm - 5:30 pm, or from 7:30 pm - 9pm.

This will be a beginner friendly session and we will be paddling in a safe, sheltered environment with the Founder Adya Misra and lovely coaches from SCA at Pinkston Watersports, Glasgow. The session is suitable for all ages (minimum age 6years) but all children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. A booking fee has been added to manage no-shows and to cover the insurance.

Please aim to be at the location, 15 minutes before the start time so we have enough time to get ready for the activity. We will have time to paddle for approximately 1.5hours, giving you time to enjoy the water, play some fun games and learn something new. After completing the session, we will be able to sign you off with a "Paddle Start" Certificate, which is your entry point into paddlesport. This program is all about continued participation, and we would like to set up all our paddlers for success.

We have created a Facebook Group called People of Colour Paddle if you'd like to join it, share photos, chat about your experiences and stay in touch that would be fantastic: https://www.facebook.com/groups/435808991741294/.
