Paddling with Pride Par-SPEY 4-6 August 2023

June 13, 2023

Join us August 4th-6th for the third instalment of Paddling with Pride - this year on the River Spey!

The SCA LGBTQ+ Equality Group is planning a two-day paddling event based at Glenmore Lodge and paddling on the local rivers or Lochs on the 5th and 6th August. The event will begin with people arriving on the 4th August with participants camping over the Friday and Saturday nights.

The event will be suitable for all paddlers as we will choose the actual paddles depending on the participants' ability. LGBTQ+ and allies are welcome.

We hope this event will provide a new opportunity for LGBTQ+ paddlers to enjoy the beautiful rivers and lochs and to form networks that will act as a platform for us to organise further activities and events in the future across Scotland. Every participant will receive a pair of Rainbow Laces and we look forward to seeing new and inventive ways of showing those off.

It’s an inclusive paddling event - all levels and abilities welcome. Paddling equipment is available to borrow for those that require it.

The cost of the event is £46.50 SCA members, £61.50 for non SCA members*

This includes:

  • Two days of supported and social paddling activity
  • Two nights camping (tent or campervan)
  • Refreshments over the weekend
  • Cake at the end of each paddling day
  • Saturday night evening meal

In addition you can add;

  • Saturday & Sunday Breakfast (£19)
  • Sunday night camping (£4 per person) (Monday is a bank holiday, so you may wish to stay an extra night)

You will need to provide your own packed lunch.

On Friday evening there will be a group meal on the campsite, with everyone bringing their own food.

*If you pay the non-member rate, you will be gifted a one year SCA Recreational Membership if you live in Scotland and have not been an SCA member in the last 3-years.
