SCA Community of Learning Events
These 2-day practical events are designed for well-practiced and experienced coaches who wish to refine and further develop their coaching practices. It’s an opportunity to come together and explore topics with a programme that is built in collaboration with those in attendance to ensure it’s relevant and useful to your coaching! The idea is that you get to share these events and the learning with other well qualified and experienced coaches. The opportunities for learning with, and from, each other being a core principle that underpin the style of learning.
The events have a very different look and feel about them to what you may be used to from other coach training; with no fixed syllabus it is up to the facilitator team to create an inspiring programme to help you further your knowledge and understanding of a wide range of relevant topics. Book early and you’ll be able to influence the programme content if you’ve got topics that you want to explore.
Are you:
A qualified coach who is looking for some CPD and general development. For example you might hold a Coach Award, BCU Level 3, 4, or 5, Moderate or Advanced Water Endorsement, or Performance Coach. You might not be looking to gain any more qualifications, but are still looking for ways to continue to learn and grow your coaching. Then this event could be for you!
You might also be interested in working towards the Performance Coach qualification (you don’t have to be). Coaches on this pathway need to attend at least one of these events. Find out more

Here is what some past participants have said;
“The Performance Coach Community of Learning event was exactly what it said on the tin! Something completely different from other courses, a chance to connect with others and dig into how and why we coach. It was a great opportunity to learn from others, share ideas and focus on the topics that really developed us as coaches. I’m already putting my learning
into action as I develop my coaching and paddling in Scotland.”
“I thought it was a refreshing way to look at coaching and it felt both empowering and supportive from both a coach and paddler perspective. I’m looking forward to pursuing the award and feel it will give me more freedom in my coaching and it will be a positive open
journey.”
“I found the community event gave me an open platform to discuss, challenge and learn ideas around coaching in a practical environment. I feel I now have a stronger foundation for my journey into coaching which therefore will allow me to be more confident in the directions I take.”
