Paddle Scotland supports and develops all types of paddlesport in Scotland. As a volunteer-led, not-for-profit membership organisation, we strive to unite and inspire paddlers across the country.
Canoe Polo is one of the only team disciplines within kayaking. It combines fast pace paddling and boat control with ball handling and teamwork. This makes polo an exciting, contact sport in which team tactics and positional play are just as important as the ability of an individual player.
Freestyle kayaking is a fun, fast and dynamic discipline. Freestyle paddlers use white water waves and holes to perform surf and gymnastic-style manoeuvres and tricks. The sport uses short kayaks designed to surf and spin across the water surface, and release up into the air.
Marathon is an endurance-based discipline with participants competing in both kayaks and canoes over long distances. It takes place mainly on the flatwater of canals, lochs and rivers and is a fantastic way to challenge yourself, improve your paddling skills, and enjoy the great outdoors.

Surf Kayaking is an exhilarating, dynamic discipline that requires a combination of freestyle and white water skills as well as the finesse and timing of a board surfer. It sees athletes take on some of the biggest waves in the ocean. Generating speed on a wave allows them to perform top turns, bottom turns, cutbacks and even aerial tricks. This discipline is both competitive and recreational.
The aim of Wild Water Racing is to race your craft as fast as you can down a stretch of white water rapids. Wild Water Racing is an exciting and challenging discipline, combining the speed and endurance of flatwater racing with the technical aspects of slalom racing.
